In the world of the internet, millions of User accounts are created every day and so are their passwords, being an essential medium to access a user account. But are we mindful about the common threats?
There are many ways for Cybercriminals to hack the security passwords you took the time to dream up. Here are 3 commonly used techniques to be aware of:
Dictonary Attacks:
“A type of brute force attack where an intruder attempts to crack a password-protected security system with a “dictionary list” of common words and phrases used by businesses and individuals.”
Key Logging:
Keystroke logging is an act of tracking and recording every keystroke entry made on a computer, often without the permission or knowledge of the user. A “keystroke” is just any interaction you make with a button on your keyboard. Keystrokes are how you “speak” to your computers.
Credential Stuffing:
Credential stuffing is a cyberattack method in which attackers use lists of compromised user credentials to breach into a system. The attack uses bots for automation and scale and is based on the assumption that many users reuse usernames and passwords across multiple services.
